রিচার্ড ডকিন্সের দেয়া মুক্তচিন্তার বইয়ের তালিকা

রিচার্ড ডকিন্স তাঁর The God Delusion বইটি লিখতে গিয়ে বিভিন্ন বই থেকে সাহায্য নিয়েছেন। নিজ বক্তব্য যুক্তিপূর্ণভাবে প্রকাশ করার জন্য তাঁকে অনেক বই পড়তে হয়েছে। এই বইগুলোর একটি তালিকা The God Delusion বইটির শেষে রয়েছে। রিচার্ড ডকিন্স মনে করেন, যাঁরা ঘটনার কার্যকারণ জানতে আগ্রহী তাদের পাঠ্যতালিকায় নিম্নোক্ত বইগুলো থাকা আবশ্যক। বিভিন্ন ঘটনা, সূত্র, ব্যাখ্যা, বিশ্লেষণ ও প্রচলিত ধর্মীয় ও পৌরাণিক কাহিনীগুলোর পরম্পরা বুঝতে হলে নিবিড় অধ্যয়নের কোন বিকল্প নেই। তাই সন্দেহবাদী, বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক অনুসন্ধিৎসু পাঠকদের জন্য একটি স্বতন্ত্র গ্রন্থতালিকা থাকা প্রয়োজন। ঈশ্বর, তার সৃষ্টি, প্রকৃতির রহস্য ও বিভিন্ন ঐশী গ্রন্থগুলো সম্পর্কে বদ্ধ ধারণা নয়, খোলামনে চিন্তা করতে হলে এক বই থেকে সব প্রশ্নের উত্তর জানা সম্ভব নয়, আর তা জানতে চাওয়াও বোকামীর নামান্তর। এক্ষেত্রে বিভিন্নরকম বই থেকে বিভিন্ন মনোভঙ্গীর লেখকদের বক্তব্য থেকে সত্যের নির্যাস বের করে আনা অনিবার্য হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। এমতাবস্থায় প্রয়োজনীয় বইয়ের একটি তালিকা হাতে থাকলে কাজটা সহজ হয়ে যায়। রিচার্ড ডকিন্সের দেয়া এই তালিকাটিও সম্পূর্ণ নয়; এই তালিকার বাইরেও অনেক বই রয়ে গেছে, যা পাঠকের প্রশ্নকে পূর্ণাঙ্গ করে তুলতে সক্ষম। তারপরও এই তালিকাটি প্রয়োজনের সময় সঠিক দিকনির্দেশনা দেবে এই প্রত্যাশায় প্রকাশ করলাম।
